Selling Your Etobicoke Home and Moving Into a Condo? Top 3 Senior Condo Buildings in Etobicoke

For Home Sellers

As a homeowner, there comes a time when you start thinking about whether you should sell and move into something that’s better suited to where you’re at in life – like a condo. And, if you live in Etobicoke, you’ll have a lot of options to choose from as you look for the right condo for you.

In this blog, I’ll touch on how selling your Etobicoke home and moving into a condo as a senior can be a huge upgrade in quality of life. I’ll also share my picks for Etobicoke’s best condo buildings for senior buyers and downsizers.

Life’s Easier in a Condo

Let’s face it, owning a house can be a lot of work. There will always be home-related chores to look after – whether it’s spring, summer, fall, or winter. As a senior, one of the best parts about downsizing to a condo is that it eliminates many of these responsibilities. Condos have on-site maintenance teams who look after the property so you don’t have to. In an Etobicoke condo, you can say goodbye to shovelling the driveway, cleaning out eavestroughs, mowing the lawn, and more.

Amenities & New Connections

As a senior, moving into a condo doesn’t just make life easier, it can also make it more fun! Most condominium buildings in Etobicoke offer a wide range of amenities that enhance your everyday quality of life. Every building is different, however standard amenities typically include fitness centres, swimming pools, tennis courts, outdoor leisure areas, dedicated storage facilities, and even concierge services.

Not to mention, having the opportunity to meet new people and form new friendships is priceless. Beyond making your life more convenient, these amenities can add opportunities for socializing and meeting new friends.

Top 3 Senior Condo Buildings in Etobicoke

As a real estate agent who has helped plenty of seniors in Etobicoke sell their homes in favour of condo living, I’m well-tuned into the local selection of condos. While there is a wide range of available properties, I’ve found three condo buildings in particular that I think make an awesome fit for seniors and downsizers.

Let’s take a look at my top three senior condominium buildings in Etobicoke. Keep in mind that these are in no particular order.

Barclay Terrace | 1300-1320 Islington Ave

Barclay Terrace is a high-rise condo located in the Islington – City Centre area of Etobicoke. Perfect for seniors who are often out and about, this building is within a short distance of the 427 and other major roadways. It’s also within walking distance of the Islington Subway Station.

Some of Barclay Terrace’s top amenities include a loaded fitness centre, swimming pool, sauna, and a tennis court.

Palace Pier | 2045 Lake Shore Blvd W

Located right on the water, Palace Pier is a charming condo building well-suited to Etobicoke seniors. With more than 400 total units in the building, it has a close-knit community of residents who often socialize and enjoy spending time together. The property features a wide range of floor plans, meaning there’s often an option available for every downsizer.

Palace Pier’s amenities include an on-site gym, swimming pool, sauna, and tennis court. There is also a dedicated concierge and 24/7 security services.

Grand Harbour | 2285-2287 Lake Shore Blvd W

Famous for its 14th-storey archway that connects the property’s two towers, Grand Harbour is the newest and arguably most upscale property on this list.

As you might expect from a condo that focuses on the fancier things, one of the unique perks of Grand Harbour is just how spacious their units are. With floor plans as big as 3,800 square feet, it’s perfect for downsizers who are looking for a little more room.

Grand Harbour’s amenities include a swimming pool, fitness centre, sauna, underground parking, wine cellar and elevated outdoor terraces.
