So what’s the deal, can condos actually stop owners from having dogs? From a legal standpoint, yes, condos can technically place (and enforce) restrictions on certain pets. That said, ‘no pets allowed’ condos are pretty rare – at least in Toronto.

There are lots of options for dog owners in Humber Bay Shores, with most properties welcoming our furry friends with open arms. However, there is one major condition. Not all condos allow large dogs.
If you’re on the hunt for the perfect condo and you’ve got a four-legged family member, there’s one big factor you need to consider – is your dog(s) bigger than 30 pounds? A lot of Humber Bay Shores condos allow both small and large dogs. But for those that do have restrictions on size, 30 pounds is typically the cut-off.
Of course, every building will enforce these rules differently. Although you probably won’t have a nosey neighbour or building manager showing up at your door with a scale to verify your dog’s size, a condo board can take action if you break the rules.
If you do have a large dog, it’s best to buy a condo in a building that allows them. You’ll deal with less stress and less risk in the long run. Plus, there are lots of condos in Humber Bay Shores that allow large dogs, so you won’t be hurting for selection.
